Lucky Cat Recording is a professional recording facility located in San Francisco’s sunny Potrero Hill neighborhood. The studio offers a comfortable and spacious creative environment, featuring an extensive collection of top quality recording equipment and musical instruments.

The main features of LCR are our large live room, with high ceilings and irregular shape (great for drums, and all other acoustic instruments), our vintage API mixing console, and our growing collection of tube/vintage microphones, pre-amps, compressors, and outboard equipment.

We offer a variety of popular and reliable recording platforms for your project:  2″ 16-track analog, 1/2″ 8-track analog, as well as 1/2″ and 1/4″ stereo mix-down options.  For digital recording, we offer Universal Audio Apollo 16 I/O interface in conjunction with Pro Tools 10 and 11, and Logic.

At the heart of the LCR control room is the vintage API 2824 mixing console, which was originally installed in Los Angeles at the Sound Factory in 1974.  Werewolves of London, anyone?

We have recently finished the artist accommodations for those artists who require lodging during their session.  This is available to anyone who books a session at LCR at no extra cost.  Why not add a few extra days to your tour to hang out in SF and record while your band is well primed?

Please feel to contact us directly with any questions.  We’re here to serve all your audio recording needs.
